With a thunderous opening period and a relentless finish, the Florida Panthers overwhelmed the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-1 on Sunday night, punching their ticket to the Eastern Conference Final for the third consecutive season.

TORONTO -- The Florida Panthers understood what caliber of team the Toronto Maple Leafs were. They understood it even though they eliminated the Maple Leafs in the Eastern Conference Second Round for the second time in three seasons, this time with a resounding 6-1 win in Game 7 at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday.

Sergei Bobrovsky made 19 saves, Florida scored three times in a 6:24 span in the second period and the Panthers routed the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-1 in Game 7 on Sunday night to advance to the Eastern Conference final.
