After a hacker reportedly stole data from TeleMessage Signal that included references to CBP, the agency has now confirmed that it used the app but has now “disabled” it as a “precautionary measure.”

On Monday, a report from 404Media found that a hacker obtained direct messages and CBP contact information from TeleMessage after Mike Waltz was spotted using the company’s modified version of Signal.

Data pertaining to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Coinbase, and financial service providers like Scotiabank has reportedly been compromised.
