Cordless hair devices are the latest items to be banned from checked luggage, as reflected in the TSA’s “What Can I Bring?” list. This includes cordless curling irons and flatirons containing gas cartridges, butane-fueled curling irons and flatirons, and gas refill cartridges for these tools.

On Aug. 20, the TSA announced on social media recent changes to what items with heating elements flyers can take in their luggage to the airport. The items have been flagged by the Federal Aviation Administration for having potentially hazardous materials, according to a report from TheStreet.
